Day 14

I am leaving Mendoza after 5 days, and will be heading to Jujuy in northwestern Argentina on the bus tonight. The busses are VERY nice and even provide dinner (worse that airplane food) and have chairs that fully recline to a cama (bed)- a very nice feature to have on a long, 22 hour bus trip.
The sun has finally started shining and it´s pretty hot, but both the hostel I am at now, and the one I am going to stay at in Jujuy (pronounced whoo0whoo-wee) have swimming pools. Jujuy is near the Bolivian border and I hear it is more indigenous than the rest of Argentina. I am looking forward to a little change... everything is very European in the rest of the country.

Hasta Pronto y besos a todos!

As for the pictures... mural is from buenos aires and the other was at an antique fair (which are everywhere) in Cordoba

This hostel has been great, the picture above is me (the white one) with Carole from Germany in the back and an English lass in white. There is a great kitchen here and we have been cooking dinner each night. They even have a real brick pizza oven...

I am still learning to manage this blog thing and so far I have not been able to figure out how to see which picture I am uploading from my camera...so bear with me.

Argentina is a unique country with every imaginable environment- from the subtropics to glaciers. The architecture here is very European, and the people share those qualities both in the way they speak Spanish (which they call CastellaƱo, and speak with Italian accents), as well as in there appearence.
I spent my first few days in Buenos Aires in San Telmo- a barrio conocido por los antiguidades. The colonial buildings and cobbled streets are home to the city´s antique shops and a world class antique fair in the main plaza, every Sunday. More soon...
